I blew up 2 ARs this past summer shooting Aguila .223 ammo. The first one, the bolt locked forward and would break free. It was a PSA build so I thought it was my fault.
Next weekend I blew up a Ruger AR556 with that same ammo. The underside of the bolt carrier was peeled down and shorn.
No injuries. All ammo and rifles have been fixed or replaced.
i fired less than 10 rounds with a couple failures mixed in before the stoppage on the PSA rifle. i simpy figured i buit something wrong and didn't even think that it was the ammo. i boxed the upper up and kept shooting.
with the ruger, it went BANG and the mag shot out the mag well.
anyways, with both rifle's upper, they were factory built. on the PSA rifle, i only built the lower. the ruger was totaly factory built and no modifications. it had recently shot flawlessly in a 4-500 round Project Appleseed two day event.
I was on the range at our look shooting hole and a guy had a brand new Dan Wesson .357 blow up on him. Factory Ammo. Part of the frame made it through 6 safety nets and took out my Laopuld VX3 which was on my Volquartsen custom .22.
No one injured, but if I didn't have the scope on, the piece of the frame would have hit the shooter's son to the left of me.

The one at 1:10 was a clear case of smokeless powder in a blackpowder muzzle loader. He appeared to be lucky not to lose appendages.
