NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Daylight Saving Time is right around the corner and despite Tennessee's Daylight Saving Time law, residents still need to turn their clocks back.
Tennesseans will have to "fall back" and turn their clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 1.
Us retired folks don't care about changing clocks back or forewords. Like a busted clock that's accurate twice a day, we have only 2 times to consider. *-Wake up, *-Go to sleep.
ReplyDeleteI agree with keeping the same time year round, but not the spring ahead version....regular time is fine....don't forget daylight savings time was created so the kids could get out of school and have an extra hour of daylight to work in the fields on the family farm.....I don't believe that's an issue anymore....I'm really tired of the day not starting until 8 o'clock due to darkness in the morning....I mean, a 7:00 tee time is basically useless...
ReplyDeleteI prefer the explanation that the extra hour of light was for daytime shopping purposes after work - follow the money.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, growing up on a farm I learned cows can't read a clock.
DeleteWhat, none of you remember Carter saying it was so kids didn't walk to school in the dark.
DeleteMost of the screed was dedicated to pandering to the Fire Brigade Mafia, as they really didn't have any other argument.
ReplyDeleteWe have the same problem in Florida - have the law change but waiting for the Feds to approve it.
ReplyDeleteI say, split the difference and then LEAVE IT THE FUCK ALONE!

We are on daylight savings time right now. We will be returning to standard time Sunday.
ReplyDeleteI seem to do better on dst for some reason that I can't explain.
I'll see how things go next month to see if the trend continues.
I noticed when I went west to New Orleans during DST I felt like myself again....
DeleteI hate daylight savings time. I'm in a state now that doesn't do it and it's great. I aint slept like normal people since 69. Every time they changed the damn clocks it would take me six/eight weeks to get back to what is normal sleep for me.
ReplyDeleteOld Indian Chief: "Ugh! Only white man think that cutting bottom of blanket off and sewing it to top of blanket give him longer blanket. Ugh!"
ReplyDeleteIf it’s such a problem,
ReplyDeleteThen let’s go to ZULU time, then we’re all on the same page!
It's just power and control. Why do we even HAVE this insane clown posse of federal leeches? Why SHOULD states wait for federal "approval"? I haven't found any authority for the feds to regulate the clocks, so why do Americans go along?
ReplyDeleteBleat, bleat.
p.s. anon at 9:53---that Iceland clip was hilarious...
