No, it was cancelled. The Free State of Bavaria is strictly enforcing quarantine rules so there will be no beer fests, wine fests, Christmas markets or similar events in the foreseeable future. All public gatherings with more than 50 persons attending are forbidden.
They cancelled the event in New Braunfels Texas (Wurstfest). A helluva good time, damn you COVID 19 !! OTOH, no 'Ompa' band music playing of which I'm not a fan.
Its damn real. Totally no Paranoia. This stuff kills People. And i know some too. So they do well with their decision to cancel big Events. Everyone else who dont believe in this Virus and the danger ..please...infect youself, get sick..dont wine and just die. One asocial stupid less on the world.
Was in Graffenwohr back in '08 just around this time of year. Those dresses are the best...feminine, enhances a woman's attributes, and a lot of the chicks wearing them are sloshed (win-win-win).
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oktoberfest: "In recent years, the Oktoberfest runs for 16 days with the last day being the first Sunday in October. However, if day 16 falls before 3 October (German Unity Day), then the festival will continue until the 3rd." The reason for these dates is that there is generally better weather in September.
Fortunately for me, the local brewhaus kept the tradition alive. Feels good to live in a state where many businesses ignore the governor’s mandate and the cops said they won’t enforce it.
My fave German pub Die Bierstube had an event by having properly distanced seating and reservations for 2 hours at a time, along with special eats. The manager told me it went very well there and at the other places in their other German pubs.
No, it was cancelled. At least in Munich and most of the rest of the world.
ReplyDeleteThat's a damned shame.
