PsychoChicks - we've all had 'em
In a disturbing voicemail obtained by the Alaska Landmine, FOX/ABC reporter Maria Athens threatens to kill Anchorage Mayor Ethan Berkowitz and his wife. The voicemail was left on Friday morning, before Athens posted a video on her official Facebook page in which she makes an unsubstantiated claim that Berkowitz posted inappropriate photos to an underage girl’s website. In the voicemail Athens says, “You’re also a pedophile and like little girls and children.” She continues, “I will personally kill you and Mara Kimmel my goddamn self you Jewish piece of living fucking shit. You have met your match mother fucker!” Listen to the whole voicemail here:

The mayor has resigned, effective Oct 23. We won't miss the lockdown master.
ReplyDeleteAfter calling her "hostile and unwell", the mayor admitted to a "consensual texting relationship" with the reporter the very next day, and resigned. To be precise, his staff advised him to resign, and his chief of staff made the announcement.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy he is gone, as are all of my friends. I do wonder what the rest of the story is. Most politicians don't roll over so easily. He's from San Francisco, arrived in Alaska in 1990 after graduating law school. He was elected to the Alaska House of Representatives in 1996, ran (and was defeated) for Lt. Gov in 2006, ran for US House of Representatives in 2008 (defeated), ran for Governor in 2010 (defeated) and was elected Mayor in 2015. He's in his second and final term. He's purely a politician, very liberal. His 'pandemic emergency powers" have been extended five times, and we have 15 official emergency orders. Businesses are collapsing, people are out of work and winter is just around the corner. His underhanded dealings are coming to light, both in his job and his personal life.

That mayor is scum....a totalitarian little pint sized egomaniacal dictator, but I don't feel very sorry for the Anchorage residents because they elected him and his far Leftwing cohorts on the Anchorage assembly.
ReplyDeleteAnchorage has a history of low voter turnouts, so they deserve what they get because they can't be bothered to get off their asses and go vote.
Very glad I don't live there, but am an hour north.

ReplyDeleteI have been married to my wife for 28 years. I was married to my first wife for 11 years. The only time I have memories of my first wife,is when I am sleeping,and have a nightmare. I wake up the next day, and my entire day is crappy. The sad part is, I thought that my first wife and I would be married for life. She was a nice person, but she was crazy. I thank God daily for my second chance with a good woman. It makes all the difference between being happy and just existing.

ReplyDeleteEx-Mayor Berkowitz is just plain smarter than the rest of us. He knows better than you knuckledraggers. How could he not? He has degrees from Harvard and from Cambridge (UK). Plus a law degree. If you don't agree with him then you probably just fail to understand the real problem. You must educate yourself before you speak on Ethan Berkowitz.
His wife Dr. Mara Kimmel is even more superior. She has a bachelor's from Berkeley, a Masters, a PhD, AND a law degree. She "works with the Alaska Court System to promote access to justice [...]. Focussing (sic) her talents on equity issues, Mara also serves on the board of directors for the Alaska Institute of Justice, Welcoming America and the Anti-Defamation League–Pacific Northwest."

DeleteMike_C - Mara Kimmel has worked for years to bring in immigrants and refugees to Alaska. (Let's not get into PhDs who insist on being called 'Dr'). Her husband has then worked to create benefits and housing for immigrants and homeless. When he tried to used Federal Covid relief funds (properly used for small businesses in trouble due to his asinine lockdowns), someone exposed that plan to the Feds, who said that new buildings were not eligible for those funds. Berkowitz then pulled police funding for his homeless housing, and re-directed the Covid relief funds to the police budget.

Alaska has been a prime destination for carpetbaggers for decades. This batch just has college paperwork.
