That is why a dash cam should be standard equipment in your car. Only way to prove this is a scam if you didn't have access to the traffic camera footage.
Note how the dude seem to know what vehicle to take the dive under. Maybe the ex-wife's car, he was in a drugged delusional state, though he was Superman and was gonna get even with her for taking his spare cape. He shoulda thought it through in my opinion.
Many years ago, I saw somebody pull this in Chicago's Old Town late at night. Happened right in front of me. The "victim of this tragic accident" was rolling around on the ground moaning. A Chicago cop came up and started writing his report. His report changed when I pulled him aside and told him what I saw. He ended up arresting the "victim", whose inuries suddenly seemed to resolve themselves.
Dashcam is requires in Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan. This is a daily occurrence. I saw a lady hook up a rope to her trailer hitch and run a slip knot over the "hurt" scammer. She took him for a ride.
Only one way to handle that. Have the stones to get out of the car and beat him till he whimpers. If he starts calling for his mother ya might wanna back it off a notch.
As Desi would say: "Lucy - choo got some 'splainin' to do..."
