I had one older than that, but it wasn't a stick per se.
When my father in law died, I was tasked with cleaning out his shed. In it, I found a 5 gallon bucket that had been used to mix paint. In the bucket was a paint-stirring stick that looked a little strange. I cleaned it off a bit and what to my wondering eyes beheld - a Civil War bayonet!
My mother in law told me she thought he had found that in a field near Munfordville KY many years ago. I finished cleaning the paint off of it and it is now in my collection. It's in better shape than many I have seen in museums.
Somecbody who speaks softly. You can see how color* fashions change over the years. The paint in the middle is maybe full of lead. *I can write American.
Mostly white paint. Dat's RAYCISS I am surprised your photo has"t been censored by some "fact checker". We all know everybody loves black paint better than white
Looks like I am not the only cheap skate out there. When I kick the bucket. My kids and grand kids, will be finding lots of stuff like this. I told my son, you better look in everything if you want all my guns. Been asking for years to have him and his 3 boys to come out to the homestead and tell me what he wants before I die. And give me a hand selling, dumping what he doesn't want. Nothing but constant no shows. So I decided that I aint gonna make it easy for him. He gets it all, but he is gonna work for it... Dads love, and dads school of hard knocks!
Ma6be he had it for 50 years, but he only used it about 22 times.

ReplyDeleteWell, I do. But it isn't used for paint.

DeleteIf it works...
ReplyDeleteHey, it's a good stick.
ReplyDeleteAnd who counted the layers of paint? What does that say about the person who did it?
