Costco drops medical exemption, will require all customers wear face coverings

Wholesaler Costco is dropping its medical exemptions and will now require all customers to wear face coverings in its stores, according to an announcement on the company’s website.

In a letter to members, President and CEO Craig Jelinek wrote that entry will be granted only to those wearing a face mask or face shield.

  1. What makes the case that this is pointless theater is that there are no exemptions for people who can prove they are immune.

  2. Too bad we don't have a Costco for me to stop going to. The local grocery in Longview Texas finally stopped with the Scold sign and the Hall Monitor pretending everyone needs a mask. For weeks I was the only adult shopping not wearing a face diaper. Lately more are removing them. The scared ones pull it down, but continue in their submission,, good grief what a nation of gutless people.

  3. How to sue Costco for ADA violation. https://youtu.be/l8y9gL3jjbs

    1. Sadly, the ADA says a business must make reasonable accommodations for disabled, but if they can't make reasonable accommodations, they can keep you out. Since they don't have online ordering/curbside delivery (given their warehouse nature, that's a fair argument), they can refuse entry. Also, as a membership "club", they get even more latitude, as you agree to abide by their rules by being a member.

Now, I think that organizing a "mask-free shopping flash mob", with 50 maskless people going in at one time and politely shopping might be a nice message. Lots of membership cancellations and angry letters to management, especially from organizations lots of members belong to might help. But it's hard to push leftist corporate management off of their virtue-signaling policies.

  4. These gutless people are the very reason the REPUBLIC IS LOST...IMO. I do hope not so though. Our Forefathers would be a war already.

    1. Wasn't the same inane idiocy performed in 1918? Yet they went on to become our 'Greatest Generation' and the Republic has still been here.

I doubt it, they will fall back on the word of "professionals" and "science".

Vote with your wallet, and those so inclined should sue the ever loving shit out of the company.

  7. Well I reckon I've got to break out my NIOSH mask and goggles...go full potato! Breathing with this mask is much easier and I get the benefit of real protection from all the nasty funk emanating out of the idiots surrounding me as they breathe through their moist masks. I go to costco only to lift heavy sacks of flour and sugar on the cart for the old ladies business. What an bunch of cunts!

  9. I put my mask on for entry, but when I am well inside, I drop it first below my nose, then below my chin.

  11. I walk in, the guy hands me a mask, I throw it in the cart and it stays there until I am back to my car. I have quite a collection of masks. I do the same whenever entering any store.

    1. Our poor Walmart greeters look absolutely miserable telling people they have to wear masks, so I put one on at the door and 10 feet inside the store I take it off and stuff it into my back pocket. I'm still using the same mask I started with when they first started requiring one back in the spring.

    2. Our Walmart greeters just look at me and I look back at them and keep on walking. They don't even offer masks to people anymore. Have to ask for one (I don't).

  12. Just in case there are a few readers that don't know yet: Costco is a leftist company, but they know a huge percentage of their members are suburban and rural, so they do it on the sly.

For example: Costco is a gun-free zone. No guns, even those with a concealed permit. If they find out you're carrying, they will tell you to leave. Put up an argument, and they'll pull your membership. But they aren't up front about it, there aren't any "no guns" signs at the door. It's buried in the membership agreement nobody reads.

The way I see it, if you're asking me to give up my means of self defense, then you had better have armed guards at the doors. An idiot with a marker checking receipts doesn't cut it.

  13. Oh when oh when will people see the power of Community can make all the difference when shit like this happens...Can you imagine if you could put a Costco out of business in your area because no one would shop there when they implement stupid rules or the opposite make a local business boom because they don't require a mask...So simple a cave man could do it...
