Oh, the irony.....

Teslas are now more expensive to recharge than it is to fuel an equivalent petrol-powered car – at least if you’re using the Tesla Supercharger network.

A recent price increase to use the fast-charging Tesla Superchargers and incorrect fuel figures on the Tesla website mean claims that recharging using a Supercharger is “less than the cost of petrol” are incorrect.

  1. The whole electric car deal is such a scam, all the plastic and rubber on them are petroleum based products. The electronics and probably the paint are derived from petroleum based products, and the carbon footprint of the batteries to charge and dispose of is enormous.
This dumbassery is nothing but this makes me feel good bullshit from idiots that know nothing but want to run the world, Fuck them assholes.

    1. You are correct, but it makes the assholes "feel Good" about themselves. Mental masturbation is more common than the hand to sex-organ variety with 50% or more of the population.

    2. Look forward to President Harris following Governor Newsom's lead and mandating that all new cars and pickups sold in the U.S. be 'carbon neutral' by 2035. AOC will approve.

  3. They say that if everyone in America were given an electric car, and they took them home the first night and plugged them in to charge, it would crash the electric grid....sounds like some re-thinking is required....

    1. I would say if 10% of America all switch to electric cars and plugged them in at the same time it would crash the grid...

  4. Don't worry, the Harris Administration will pump gas prices to the point where buying and charging a Tesla will seem like pocket change.

  5. I also read a recent German study concluding that recharging electric vehicles, assuming a coal fired plant (Germany's getting rid of their nukes) pollutes more than a midsize diesel car or truck.

  6. Unable to comprehend as it's an Aussie article with Aussie dollars and Aussie petrol.
I would need some time to recalc the figures to American scale.

  7. No thanks, I'll keep my Prius plug-in. Electric costs are so small I can't detect them on my bill, and since it's a hybrid, no worries about finding a "charging station" when you're about out of juice.
If I keep my foot out of it, I can do all my consumer missions on EV only.

    1. I rented a Prius once. The thing would go down the road at 90 mph all day. I had no idea hw it worked, didn't care. I heard it's little Onan engine run every once in awhile, but I never plugged it in or put gas in it. Like I said, I didn't know how and the rental place didn't tell me how to recharge it or fill up the gas.. I suppose when it stopped somewhere, I was supposed to call someone who gives a shit?

  10. Bogus figures used for this story, where the f#ck can you buy premium unleaded for $1.38? It (regular unleaded) is just under $2.00 where I live and I feel like I'm stealing it.
Just another hit piece on Musk, writers are always jealous of the pussy he gets while these f#ckwits have to live with their mom.
