A drop in the bucket

TURLOCK (CBS13) — More than 20 people have been arrested in connection to a months-long investigation into the Norteno street gang in the Turlock area, officials announced Wednesday.

I lived in that area and you can believe me when I say that the entire county is infested with gang members, both norteno and sureno, and has been for years and years.
If all they arrested were 23 people then they must not have put a lot of effort into it.

  1. The failed to make their payoff to the corrupt LEO's so these arrests were sanctioned.

  2. You could round up twice as many just strolling thru Walmart.

And they don't bribe the cops directly. They launder money thru legitimate businesses that rely heavily on cash, then use unscrupulous clowns in town to use the money to make campaign contributions to local politicians.

When in doubt, follow the money. Cops can't because they're too unsophisticated, they're unmotivated, or they're content as long as they get paid well and have good pensions.

  3. So they cleaned up maybe one street corner, and expect a pat on the back.

  4. The low hanging fruit requires the least effort.
