I have a close friend that had something similar to #8 happen to him, except it wasn't a bus and it wasn't a safe room.
He lived in a 100+ year old house. It had a detached garage with a car port to one side. His car was parked in the carport when a storm blew in. It rained hard for a few hours and when he went out to his car, the concrete pad of the carport had collapsed into a big void in the ground under it. It turned out to be an old cistern from when the house was first built. He had to have the car towed out and the hole filled in. Until that day, he had no idea it was even there.
Gotta love Mondays.....
