She didn't think her friends would eventually catch on?
A British bride who faked terminal cancer to raise $11,000 for her dream wedding was sentenced this week to five months in prison.
“Every right-thinking member of society would be appalled by your behavior,” District Judge Nicholas Sanders told Toni Standen, 29, as he sentenced her Tuesday in Chester Magistrates’ Court, according to the Sun.
Twenty or so years ago a rural Texas community put on a fund-raising barbecue for a man who had cancer. When told of the fete, the man said that was real nice but he and his wife had scheduled a Caribbean cruise that week.
Malingering - pretending to be sick to get attention or sometimes drugs. I actually knew a girl one time who would pretend to have leukemia to get attention. She would fake passing out any time the conversation in the room turned away from the subject of her. She made the mistake of pulling that stunt around a Paramedic friend of mine and got a nice deep whiff of ammonia capsules. The Paramedics call it "Magic Oxygen". My recommendation is to run away from this kind of behavior as fast as you can.
Do the "arm drop test" on someone "passed out." They're laying on the ground, face up (supine). Lift their arm and hand over their face....and drop it.
The truly unconscious will smack their face.....every time. The fakers will "guide" their hand above their head. Then the medics present will start jacking with them (ask me how I know ;) )
The friends and husband did not see her losing weight. Chemo is a BITCH and nobody thought to ask about it and why was she not sick as a dog and deafly ill, world is full of IDIOTS!!! grayman
Interesting
ReplyDeleteShe got more punishment then those who in another British town that starts with 'Roth' and ends in 'ham' who 'combed' young girls

ReplyDeleteThe husband supported her in court so I assume he will believe her when she announces triplets and gives her 6 grand for the gender reveal party.

It would take that much money to get me to even date her, much less get married.
