Virginia Military Institute Removes Stonewall Jackson Statue

Virginia Military Institute began tearing down a statue of Confederate Gen. Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson Monday morning after school leadership approved the removal in October.

Virginia Military Institute’s (VMI) Board of Visitors unanimously approved Gen. Thomas “Stonewall” Jackson statue’s removal in October after the school was accused of systemic racism and of fostering a hostile environment for black cadets. An Oct. 17 Washington Post report laid out several accusations of racism and insensitivity at VMI.

  1. And yet one more assault on America by the liberals. You would think nothing would surprise me anymore about what they do, and yet they never fail to amaze. I hope that they live to regret what they are doing, and have done.

  3. There is going to be a ferocious backlash from all this nonsense.

At this rate, there will be Otto Skorzeny statues going up, and normal people are going to cheer. Not because normal people particularly admire the SS, but because it will be seen as the alternative to our current narcissistic, whining, self-aggrandizing, self-loathing, self-pitying, and self-righteous parasitic Elites who claim the mantle of victimhood when they are in fact the oppressors and exploiters.

  4. This tearing down statues of great men is sickening but not surprising since these great men were SO much greater than these milktoast faggotry "men" that get so easily offended these days. Instead of looking up to the best example of real men they can't stand that they themselves are weak and pathetic. Hybo

    1. We are all weak and pathetic in comparison to these great men of history. But still more than a match for the unpleasant job ahead of us.

  5. Because he was a white man named Jackson?

  6. Now that pisses me off. VMI I lived very close to for many years. Every year a hand full of Cadets would march to New Market. During the Civil War the South needed men at New Market for the big battle. A group of Cadets marched there to fight. Lots of history at VMI, it should not be erased.

  7. If the BLM pussy cadets are intimidated by a statue, God forbid that they should ever confront an actual enemy.

  8. From Richmond, I drive north to visit friends a couple times a year. There used to be a sign on I-95 marking the Stonewall Jackson Shrine, (the place where he died). Last trip, I noticed that the sign was changed. It now reads "Stonewall Jackson Death Site".

    Seriously, Virginia?

  9. I'm surprised General Jackson's statue hung around so long...I bet it wanted to look away from the sight of so many un-men and, ride away without dirtying the sword or even a rock.

    1. Pretty sure the alumni think so.

    2. it wasn't exactly unanimous. only after at least one resigned....i can hear the alumni money drying up as we speak. gonna be hard times there next year. too bad they wasted all those millions on new buildings instead of endowments. then they wouldn't have had to sell their souls for a measly 17 million. that's a drop in the bucket to what they'll lose. guess i better be looking for a new job, lol.

  11. Such a shame. I admired Stonewall not what he fought for but what kind of a soldier he was.

  12. If all this has an edge, we've gone over it.

    Shame.

  14. After they admitted a female to be a cadet, it was only a matter of time.

    1. no, it was greed and the search for prestige. more cadets mean more money, but also lower standards. then pc culture took over, got dependent on that cash from the state. it's a empty suit now. won't be long the doors will close. guess nothing good lasts forever.
