#10 has to be a Dude Perfect sketch. Unbelievable what those guys come up with and then get filmed. They have made millions off YouTube with their stuff.
For years a goal of the construction industry was an 100% airtight structure. After that goal was achieved, it was realized it was not so desirable. Radon, as one example, is naturally occurring and causes health problems, even death, when allowed to rise to specific concentrations, such as inside an airtight building without environmental systems designed to reduce concentrations. Such systems are generally too costly for residential structures. ('leaky' building is the type of system). Since the 1990s, many home builders have moved away from truly airtight homes.
Heat Recovery Ventilators (HRVs) are now required by the Ontario Building Code in new houses. Cold fresh air is drawn from outside and heated by the air that will be exhausted outside. Mine cost $600 about ten years ago.
I refuse to use foam insulation. If the mix is even slightly off, it will off-gas pretty much forever. It can cause some horrible side effects, not to mention require replacing that part of the structure if it's done incorrectly.
Nothing wrong with rockwool, or other more conventional insulation.
#3 "I meant to do that." To quote Richard Pryor & Gene Wilder - "WE BAD!!! W@E BAD!!!"
ReplyDelete#3, professional stunt man there. You can bet the ranch on that
DeleteWhat is it about pigs that makes guys want to ride them?

Don't know, never dated one.
DeleteWe raised them when I was a kid. Jump on, grab an ear in each hand, and hold on.

ReplyDelete#2, the dude in blue. Another reason real Americans don't like soccer. Cowboy up, man. Can't take it, don't dish it out.
ReplyDeleteEuropean soccer is played by drama queens.

ReplyDeleteIs that chick in #1 intoxicated? Either that or room temp IQ.
ReplyDelete#3 - That guy is part cat...
ReplyDelete#8 - Spray insulation is great stuff, it seals the building as well as insulates. It's used extensively in Canada, a well-known cold and windy place.

DeleteBTW: Canada has a lot of granite.
But by installing an air-to-air heat exchanger to keep the thermal efficiency high. Not by increasing the number or size of leaks.

You do not want an air tight home, a house needs to breath, well insulated but not air tight!!! grayman

#6 seemed like a good idea at the time.
ReplyDelete#4."It's not the size of the dog in the fight..."
ReplyDeleteI've seen a guy do a #3 with a beer in his hand. The can was dented and foaming, but he never dropped it.
ReplyDelete#5: Come on, bitch. Let's go home.
ReplyDeleteMy son's 130 pound German Shepard has mauled a couple of bears up here.
ReplyDeleteProperly mixed in the right proportions, spray foam insulation is safe after it cures.
ReplyDeleteImproperly mixed or in the wrong proportions, outgassing is dangerous.
Not in my house, thanks.
