Commentary: If Biden Really Wants National Unity, He Should Call off the Trump Impeachment Trial

Does President-elect Joe Biden really want the first order of business when he is sworn into office to be the trial of outgoing President Donald Trump?

On Nov. 6, 2020, while votes were still being counted, Biden told the nation: “We may be opponents but we’re not enemies, we’re Americans. No matter who you voted for I’m certain of one thing, the vast majority of them, almost 150 million Americans who voted they want to get the vitriol out of our politics. We’re certainly not going to agree on a lot of issues but at least we can agree to be civil with one another. We have to put the anger and the demonization behind us. It’s time for us to come together as a nation to heal. It’s not going to be easy, we have to try. My responsibility as president will be to represent the whole nation.”

Yeah well, I think at this point in time National unity is nothing but a pipe dream. Liberals have proven time and time again with their actions and words that they don't want it and conservatives have been punched and kicked around so much lately that we don't trust liberals as far as we can spit.

  1. There will be no such thing as the "national unity" tripe be bandied by some, nor am I interested in unity with people whose morals differ so vastly from my own. I also am not interested in unity with people that call for "cleansing" of me and my ilk.It aint happening. Ever.

Silly political pandering about BS elections and impeachments will not repair the rift, and is simply more theater, pablum for the masses.

A part of me still hopes that some of the 1/2 of this country that prefers not to live under communism/authoritarianism/technocratic rule, will find a path to victory over these sociopaths somehow, sometime.

Today is a sad day in my view, but gotta keep living, keep doin the things.

    Be blessed folks.

    1. You will become unified...or else. Non-compliance will NOT be tolerated. Resistance is futile and treasonous. Please return to your homes. This is for your own safety.

  2. After what I've seen over the past four years, I will never, ever trust any Democrat or any Department of "Justice" entity. They can take their call for unity and shove it directly up their collective asses.

  3. AFTER TODAY, THERE CAN BE NO TRAIL, AS D.J. Trump is no longer POTUS. Instead, we have Xi Light.

    1. Since when have any concept of rules or law ever applied to the Democrats.

They'll use rules and law to beat the shit out of a conservative, but rules and law don't apply to them.

So, fully expect Trump to be impeached after he steps down.

      Look at it this way...

Can't impeach a non-president, right? Therefore, They admit that President Trump won the election. Simple, no?

They can't keep their lies straight, like any other 3 year old throwing a temper tantrum.

  4. I think their idea of unity compares to reconstruction after the civil war.

  9. Like others, call for me to be tossed out of my housing, lose any financial support or job, and be treated like an indentured servant?

Ha. National unity, ha. What, Make America Great Again wasn't good enough? Record employment, record increases in everyone's paychecks? That wasn't Unity enough?

Fuck them. With a rusty chainsaw. And a sledgehammer.

Nah, just remember what Uncle Joe said: "No man, no problem." National unity is easy once all of us kulaks are dead or imprisoned.

  12. "Does President-elect Joe Biden really want ....".

He wants a clean diaper six times a day, that's all that matters to him.
Biden is not in charge so don't tell me 'he wants', besides the diapers of course.

  13. Me, I'm gonna look forward to the spring planting. I have to get my hot pepper seeds in 3" pots in my kitchen on the heating pads, thats Feb then the toms in early March.
Soon after that keep watch for the garlic, that was planted in Oct, to pop up, I love having the idea that all winter I have things growing in the garden.
I have always projects around the house, been painting a lot lately, freshening up the bedrooms.
I am just going to go about my life as Washington DC doesn't exist.
