It's illegal to detain blacks suspected of a crime now?

Suburban Denver police officers won’t be charged after detaining four Black girls by gunpoint this summer and handcuffing two of them after wrongly suspecting they were riding in a stolen car, prosecutors said Friday.

  1. I'm not black, but if a cop cuffs and holds me at gunpoint for a crime I didn't commit I would be a little bit pissed off.

  2. The headlines are missing the big deal here. Cops protecting cops. Colorado legislators voted to take away policemans civil immunity. First question: state cops or local? State cops, or state patrol can't be punished under the new rules. If the local cops lose in court against the girls, they can never hold a badge again in the state of colorado in addition to paying damages to girls. The police dept is trying to shield the cops from the new rules and the obvious consequences that cops are going to look the other way when having to arrest someone and let them go. Same thing happened when we got red flag laws. A cop was the very first person to be red flagged which turned out bogus.
