Sheriff Chris West defends participating in protest at U.S. Capitol

CANADIAN COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – Canadian County Sheriff Chris West held a news conference Friday afternoon to discuss his thoughts on mob violence at the U.S. Capitol and debunk social media rumors about his trip to Washington, D.C. on Wednesday.

West said he took his personal car to D.C. to be a part of the protest at Liberty Square. He said he also deleted his social media while he was there at his wife’s request to protect their family and not let anyone know he was going. However, he did march to the capitol and did not take part in what many lawmakers are labeling insurrection.

  1. A police chief from Troy, NH also attended the protest and since his return there have been demands for his resignation or firing. Like Sheriff West, he went on his own time, his own dime, and did not take part in the insurrection.

Who has been demanding the police chief's resignation? People from out of town.

The town's selectmen have refused to fire the chief because they support him as do the townspeople. Because of their refusal, threats and death threats have been made against the chief, selectmen, and town staff, causing the selectmen to close the town hall for the safety of the townsfolk and the staff.

  2. Locally there is a grocery store chain owner, Donald Rouse of Rouse's Supermarkets, has been bending over backwards trying to explain and justify his presence at the Jan 6th rally in DC tothecancelculture. Although he's based out of Thibodaux, La and we don't mind he being there his stores stretch out from south LA to Mobile, Al.

  3. From the article: "Egregious crimes"? Funny how the language just keeps escalating as to what happened there - even from the people who were there and saying that they didn't see it/didn't take part in it, etc. Hell, I used to work on Capitol Hill, and having large rallies spill into the Capitol and the surrounding Congressional offices wasn't exactly unheard of. Not common, but it happened often enough. While I was there, a bunch of militant lesbians in TWAT TEAM BDUs came into the House offices during a display of the Aids quilt. No big deal, boys will be boys...er, well....something like that.

Also funny how it is all being described as "violent" when few mention that one of the heads of BLM actually planted a bomb on the Senate side when she was younger, or how Puerto Rican nutjobs opened fire from the gallery back in the 50s (some bullet holes are still there), not to mention the guy who shot his way in to the building back in '98 or so. This was, at best, small beer next to those kinds of things.
