A beer cave? I want one!

ST. LOUIS, Mo. (KTVI) – A once-lost cave has since been rediscovered in a St. Louis neighborhood after more than a century. 

“We lowered a lidar unit down here to map out the cave … it’s like 30-feet wide with a ceiling of 7 by 15 feet tall,” said Bill Kranz, project facilitator for McHose and English Cave Recovery. “We were all out here in the alley jumping around like crazy.”

    There are several in the the south city area. The Lemp Brewery has some and tunnels from the mansion to the brewery. Some of the old houses there were built over caves and had grates in the floor to cool the house in summertime.
