Once Lucas sold the franchise to Disney, the plot arcs and character development went straight to the crapper. Then, of course, the Califruitopia hoity toity local.gov started going after Lucas for some minor code violation on his property. He promptly replied that if they kept at it he'd build acres and acres of low income housing right next door to all those multi-million $ homes in his neighborhood. He never heard another word. All this is part of a much bigger issue. Gina Carano is catching flak not only for her own actions, but because this is a proxy war between Woke Star Wars and Star Wars for normal people who like heroes and villains and decent storytelling.
ReplyDeleteThere is a hot civil (or uncivil) war inside Disney Star Wars (as opposed to the prior independent LucasFilm SW). On the one side is Kathleen Kennedy "The Force is Female" who oversaw the horrible last three major films (thank you round-headed asshole Rian Johnson, and the execrable grifter JJ Abrams). Kennedy Star Wars is Woke as hell and also simply bad storytelling. On the other side is Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni (who are responsible for The Mandalorian). Most Star Wars fans like the Mandalorian (and people went nuts when Luke Skywalker appeared in the last episode, as heroic-and-competent Luke, and not a pathetic recluse drinking green space walrus titty-milk), and many are very very upset with the Kennedy films.
Personally, Carano upset the freaks and assholes when she refused to "post her pronouns" on Twitter. The irony is the SJWs attacking a genuinely strong, independent woman.
As to the Jewish thing, Bob Iger (Disney honcho) is a Jew, grifter extraordinaire JJ Abrams is a Jew. Jon Favreau is a Jew. I don't know if any conclusions can be drawn from this, but it would seem that Jewish people are certainly NOT underrepresented when it comes to positions of power and authority in the Star Wars media empire.

That whole industry has been an almost exclusive by and for Jews enterprise, since the industry was invented in NYFC before it moved west, in the infant days of film before talkies. Now that all of the remaining studio's have caved to the "woke culture" of the Lefty agenda, they're dying a slow death. The only thing that's keeping the industry alive is reruns on cable. The box office receipts have been in the crapper for most film releases since way before Obama, even the so-called block busters don't do nearly as well, when accounting for inflation, as back in the day. The only reason they still can claim records for gross reciepts is the inflated prices they charge for tickets. If you measured them on # of tickets sold vs $ they're in a world of hurt. Now with Covid and simultaneous box office and straight to cable release, the death knell is getting louder by the day.
