The mayor, police chief, city clerk and a former city clerk of a small Midwest town were all arrested for allegedly abusing their power — with crimes including stealing money, falsifying records and strong-arming civilians, officials said.

Involuntary conversion to lamppost decoration will reduce the recidivism rate significantly and set a clearly defined policy position. Unfortunately it WILL lead to a wave of early retirements by public employees. That's a feature not a bug though.
Oh those civilians. Personally, I think anyone in government officialdom who refers to the taxpayers as civilians should be publicaly horse whipped, and reporters too. Daryl

and yet the patriot conservative right will predictably sit back and take it, do nothing. This country has more guns & ammo then anywhere on earth yet are mentally disarmed.
The two women definitely have the "I diddn do nothin" looks and the two men, "You just wait 'til I get back my badge and gun." What FredLewers labeled "lamppost decoration" is always a good idea when trusted officials in a small town betray trust.
Geez what a cast of characters. The mayor could pass for a Boss Hogg, but that ain't no Sheriff Roscoe, that's for sure. Put all 4 of 'em in with some hairy bikers.
