Edelbrock burning rubber to get out of California

If there's one aftermarket performance company whose name is synonymous with classic American muscle, it just might be Edelbrock. As the manufacturer of carburetors, camshafts, cylinder heads, and more, Edelbrock has built a trusted reputation amongst classic car owners across the nation. There's a reason the company calls itself "the most respected name in performance."

This week, though, Edelbrock seems to be hurting. Daily Breeze has uncovered a filing with the California Employment Development Department which shows that Edelbrock will be closing its long-standing headquarters in Torrance.

  2. Americans wont need carburetors, camshafts, and cylinder heads. Biden will make sure of that

  3. Well, that seems like a no-brainer.
The equity people took over Edelbrock in 2010, COMP in 2020.
California is an over-priced shithole, and the money people want their rate of return unimpeded. Frankly, customer service wen to shit shortly after IOP took over, just like my last employer cut service after buyout.

I'm too old for this shit anymore, anyway.

  4. Fun Fact: Since 2008, 180,000 businesses have left California. Last year alone 18,000 left.

  5. California can’t chase businesses out of their state fast enough.

  6. But dammit they bring a lot of their asshole employees with them. If the states could force them to hire a high percentage of locals they would be better off anyway except all levels of government are cash starved and don't have the leeverage savvy . (Capt. Jack Sparrow)
