Concerns about President Joe Biden’s potential restrictions on firearm purchases sent sales soaring in January, industry insiders said. More than 4.3 million people purchased guns in the first month of 2021, the highest number on record.
The 4.3 million purchases represent legal applications through the FBI’s National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS); it excludes illegally purchased firearms.
....and yet, people wonder why it’s so hard to get ammo to feed their new (or old!) toys. 🤪
ReplyDeleteNothin' like buying a firearm on the tail end of the rush. When President Usurper passes his control agenda and they don't register, the ATF will be at their door first.
ReplyDeleteHow will that happen? Just calling in for a approval doesn't mean you actually buy a gun. And that paper form you sign when you do buy a gun stays with the gun seller for life. So the AT doesn't actually know who buys any until you register it yourself with those criminals. And I learned early on that when you sign the form, the signature is unreadable. The last gun I bought was 10 years ago and my name only showed up in one place on the form, and it where I signed it.
DeleteIt also excludes legal private sales.
ReplyDeletePrivate sales is the key words here.
DeleteI looked at Gallery of Guns just to see what they had in stock and found five $1000+ .22 rifles. That was it. But I listed a 686-4 on Armslist and was surprised at how little action it got. That suggests new rather than experienced buyers are behind most of this. Of course 686-4 is a pre-lock S&W revolver and not some wonder nine and that might put some people off.
