Maybe, and perhaps. It's a story that has many chapters. My dad was a battery commander of artillery in Vietnam with the 101. In my world, when you bring artillery to the fight, it isn't so secret or covert anymore. The CO of the Wolfhounds wrote him up in a good way. Hackworth did him proud. I drive through every little ohio and PA town and as we drive I remark on the artillery they still have on parade. I think it was only Newport, RI, where the artillerymen thought to recreate the splendor of a round fired using paint (see the movie) which was right outside the downtown theater where I and a friend were watching umberto ecos, Name of the Rose. Made coming ashore from Coaster's Harbor Island all that much enjoyable.

Interesting that the support troops that arrive at the beginning of the video are carrying M14s.
