As a kid we called that chipped beef gravy and my mother served it on buttered toast. In the military I soon learned it was SOS. I been eating that stuff since a tyke. I like the Jimmy Dean Sage sausage and I make my own biscuits. I'd eat the frozen too though.
I'd bet money you can't get biscuits & gravy anywhere in district of cartoonistan, which splains the entire problem. Ain't a damn one of em American....... bunch of stinking commies
I love this stuff. Of course I use the frozen biscuits. Got some Armor dried beef the other day, SOS is going to be on the menu soon.

DeleteI've been watching this guy for a spell. He's good and his recipes are home cookin.
ReplyDeleteI make good biscuits, but my aunt turned me onto a trick last month: use bread flour instead of all-purpose. Much better.

Also freeze your butter or lard before you dice it when mixing the dough.
DeleteI never tried the Dutch oven but the cast iron frying pan works great in the oven. I also like heavy sage sausage mixed in with my breakfast gravy.
Love me some B&G!
ReplyDeleteLove this guy, he has 2 cookbooks that are great to own. Also, see his videos on how to re-season and take care of your cast iron. Hybo
ReplyDeleteYou may have heard of my wife . Kate . The Queen of Gravy !
ReplyDeleteMamaw used lard in her biscuits, but Momma switched Crisco in the ‘70s, because it was “healthy.”
ReplyDeleteLARD taste WAY BETTER, EVEN if its baadddd.
DeleteI don't mean to toot my own horn, but I make great B&G. The only thing I would add is cayenne pepper to give it a little kick!
ReplyDeleteThe flour sifter sitting in the dirt. Adds flavor to the gravy.
ReplyDeleteMy Grandma used to make some of the best Catheads, and also made the gravy with bacon drippings instead of sausage......you haven't lived until.....
