American Special Ops Forces Are Everywhere
Within the span of a few decades, the United States has utterly transformed its military, or at least the military that is actively fighting. This has taken place with little fanfare and little public scrutiny. But without any conscious plan, I have seen some of the evolution firsthand. One of my early books, Black Hawk Down, was about a disastrous U.S. Special Ops mission in Somalia. Another, Guests of the Ayatollah, about the Iran hostage crisis, detailed an abortive but pivotal Special Ops rescue mission. U.S. Special Operators were involved in the successful hunt for the drug lord Pablo Escobar, the subject of Killing Pablo, and they conducted the raid that ended the career of Osama bin Laden, the subject of The Finish. By seeking out dramatic military missions, I have chronicled the movement of Special Ops from the wings to center stage.

That was a good story.
ReplyDeleteOne needs only to compare the personal equipment to chart a drastic change in the community. A Youtube video I recently watched of a former Delta guy. He compared his gear from early in his career to todays gear. The differences could be compared like night and from cobbled together from a bunch of off the shelf, and probably modified, to purpose factory made stuff. Everything has changed, tactics, support, etc. Literally every aspect of the SOF community is probably at its pinnacle with the current level of technology. The real question should be where do they go from here?
ReplyDeleteIf they follow orders from dc their next stop will be in the USA.
DeleteJust read on Breitbart this morning that SOCOM has hired its first “chief of diversity and inclusion”. An anti-Trump guy who compared Trump to Hitler. The beat goes on.
ReplyDeleteTucker Carlson just did an excellent takedown on that clown yesterday.
DeleteIt's worth watching, although very depressing to see what our SF and all armed forces have been reduced to under the regime of Sleepy Joe and the heels up Hoe.
Tim in AK
The USMIL as a Entity is not our friends.
DeleteMake no mistake.
Especially, any up and coming.
Run and guided by SJW soyboys and Filthy Greedy Traitorous eggs and stars
No sir. No thanx
Obama's purge of the military has now kicked into hyper-overdrive. They're not even being subtle about it. This new appointee is a complete in-your-face to all Trad Americans. They're telling us "What are you going to do about it?".
DeleteThe Atlantic.
ReplyDeletewhy would a Commie Leftwing Rag have a story like that.
All is not as it seems
The writer seems to be leaning left and tries to lessen the results of Republican administrations, while granting a fighter warrior status for Obama. Hell, the writer couldn’t even write President Donald Trump. The writer only casually calls him Obama’s successor as President.
ReplyDeleteThe use of the word throwback comes across as a negative.
“ President George H. W. Bush gathered an allied coalition to drive the Iraqis out. That effort, Desert Storm, would be a throwback to conventional warfare—a clash of big armies.”
I think the writer ejaculated when this was written.
“President Barack Obama, who was trying to crush emerging terror threats while at the same time lower American troop levels overseas. ... Thomas described Obama as “a junkyard dog” when it came to national security.“
Orange man bad
“...even as Obama’s successor as president made several dramatic troop reductions or withdrawals notably in Syria and Afghanistan. Donald Trump’s words and policies were unpredictable, but SOCOM’s mission continued to enlarge.“
Thoughts and prayers to our SF and I hope they choose The Constitution as their guide.
They do this every year. I have played opfor for them in Kentucky. I have no idea why this periodically pops up as some weird conspiracy. What is wrong with them training?
ReplyDeleteYou obviously didn’t read the original article. Nothing is even mentioned about conspiracy.
