CA's rent moratorium is set to expire. What it means for renters and landlords

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — The COVID-19 pandemic has infected most California communities and the financial toll has only begun to be seen. What we do know is, as the state's rent moratorium bill is set to expire, people are struggling to hold onto their homes.

"There's a lot of people that don't have the money to pay rent, and it's hard for us, especially when we have a family," said a Stockton resident who didn’t want KCRA 3 using her name.

What it means is there's a bunch of people that are about to lose their homes.
While I understand a lot of people lost jobs and couldn't pay their rent or mortgage due to Newsom's shutting down the State, you just know there's a bunch of people that just took advantage of it and didn't pay their rent and/or utilities thinking they were getting a free ride, either not realizing or not caring that it was all going to come due all at once when this expired.
The first group of people I feel for, I really do. The second group..... not so much.
