CNN Doctor Now Recommends Masks and Social Distancing Every Winter
Dr. Paul Offit, a pediatrician who regularly appears on CNN, has informally recommended masking and social distancing every winter, saying it would dramatically reduce the spread of the flu and subsequent hospitalizations and deaths.

DeleteThis shows astounding ignorance about the way that disease pathogens work. A temporary reprieve might be gained by making it more difficult for them to spread. Their response will be to develop better ways to spread, we will then be stuck with masks and staying two yards apart without having gained anything.
ReplyDeleteThe truth is out there. Go find it. The covid vaxx's do NOT keep you from getting the covid. If you get the vaxx you will have a greater chance on coming down with the covid and having a worse case. After you get the vaxx, you have a 30% chance of dying because you got the vaxx. If you die after taking the vaxx your life insurance will not pay for your death because YOU took an untested medicine.

It’s a bit of a reach to state the contestability clause in a life insurance policy could be successfully be used to deny a payout for taking a government approved vaccine.

Yep, I wondered how long it would take them. Turns out, not too long. I also imagine the idiots who are in charge of retirement homes will do the same thing. This shit is never going to go away. I can count on one hand how many times I have worn a mask.

What is the real benefit of vaccination?

If statistically the virus won’t kill me anyway…. Why should I get vaccinated?

So if I get vaccinated, others are 100% sure I won’t infect them?

If I get vaccinated, but still catch the virus, can I sue the manufacturer? What if someone in my family contracts the virus, after vaccination, then dies. Can I sue the manufacturer?
Government: No, we passed a law holding the manufacturers harmless from ANY deleterious effects from the virus.
So, to summarize: The Covid 9 vaccine….
Does not give immunity.
Does not eliminate the virus.
Does not prevent death.
Doesn’t guarantee you won’t get it.
Doesn’t stop you from getting it.
Does not stop you from passing it on.
Doesn’t preclude the need for travel bans.
Doesn’t preclude the need for business closures.
Doesn’t preclude the need for closures.
Doesn’t preclude the need for concealment.
Doesn't allow for a mistake by the manufacturer to be adjudicated in a court of law and THAT should have been your first clue.
...and the really sad part of this whole thing is that WE LET THEM DO THIS TO US. Granted, not doing some of the things listed above could have been a death sentence. However, we'll NEVER KNOW FOR SURE because the statistics on the disease are grossly inflated. Early on, nearly every death, no matter the actual cause, was attributed to COVID by greedy hospitals looking to cash in on .gov largess.
Then there's the deaths of old folks FORCED by some governors, one in particular, to cohabit with COVID patients when other facilities, constructed for the sole purpose of treating COVID patients, in isolation from any other condition requiring hospitalization, went unused because the governors of those states hated Trump.
So those governors CHOSE POLITICS OVER THE LIVES OF THEIR OWN CITIZENS and those governors are STILL WALKING AROUND FREE AND STILL GOVERNING THEIR STATES, instead of doing the hemp jig.
Oh, one more thing. What are the statistics on regular flu for the 2020/2021 flu season? Oh, there was no flu in 2020/2021 or 2019/2020? OK, if you say so.

DeleteReally? I personally know 3 people that died from it and their only underlying cause was age. One was in her early 70s and the other was pushing 80. Both were healthy and active until they caught it.

ReplyDeleteI've always tried to "social distance". Not necessarily because of fear of catching something, but because I don't like having strangers and/or people I don't care for physically close to me. That said, it's a personal preference thing, it should not be a government decree. (Hey, just had a thought. Most Chinese people seem to have very little sense of social distance. Forcing them to social distance is against their folkways. Shame, shame on all those white doctors in the CDC forcing their white supremacist customs on the poor Chinese. Ai-ya! Stop the anti-Sinotism now!)
ReplyDeleteAs to Doctor Offit, his Wikipedia entry under "Life" makes him sound like an asshole. (Sorry to disappoint certain of you [self-identified pork product], but my complaint has nothing to do with ethnicity.)
Offit grew up in Baltimore, the son of a shirtmaker. He went to his father's sales meetings and reacted negatively to the tall tales told by salespeople, instead preferring the clean and straightforward practice of science. When he was five years old, he was sent to a polio ward to recover from clubfoot surgery; this experience caused him to see children as vulnerable and helpless, and motivated him through the 25 years of the development of the rotavirus vaccine.
Anyone who really "does science" (and Offit has) knows it's not at all "clean and straightforward". It's as dirty and political as other human endeavor. Now this entry may not be Offit's fault, but notice how this section is written to show Offit himself as a victim. Implication is that he grew up poor (son of a shirtmaker). He was crippled (clubfoot) and suffered pain as a child. THIS sort of shit is what you get when the culture has been twisted so that victimhood is the mark of nobility and superiority.
Instead of whining, go edit his Wikipedia entry.

I can only say to this good doctor, screw you. Any other vaccine takes 4-5 years to develop. They took about one year for this one. My doctor wrote me an email today telling me that I can get one, and to sign up. New Michigan rules, you know. I believe I will pass, and allow someone else to be the test subjects that they negated to faithfully follow for the correct period of time, not to mention the lack of animal testing that they failed to do, as is normal. The Empress of Lansing, Gretchen Whitless, is up for re-election in 2022. I doubt that she will unlock the state before then.
