  3. 2 possibiities:

    1. We're all gonna die and people in assisted living facilities are gonna do it sooner than the rest of us, so maybe it isn't that hard to predict.

    2. Oscar is suffocating the people when no one is looking.

  6. When they do that kneading thing on you with their paws, they're actually checking you for tenderness.
    True story.

  7. Have 3 cats. *MY* bet, is Oscar is attempting to comfort the individuals.

When I had. Bad, occult, GI bleed, the cats (and both dogs) lay on our bed, clustered around me.

When I smartened up, a little, and went to ER, my hemoglobin (oxygen carrying part of a red blood cell) was 7.

    Normal runs around 13-14.

    Oops.

    1. Or, Oscar (and your cats) were waiting for the free buffet to be open.
I'm willing to bet the dog's were there out of loyalty or affection, but cats care for no one but themselves. I've had both, and will NEVER own a cat (or, more properly, be owned by a cat) again.

Funny thing about cats is that they can be just as loving and loyal as dogs-- as I was reminded of yesterday morning. I woke up about an hour before the alarm to the twin spectacles of mt heart trying to (arrhythmically) pound its way out of my chest and both of our cats frantically trying to wake my wife and me up. Later that morning, when I saw my cardiologist, the diagnosis was atrial fibrillation. So, a shoutout to my girls Gizmo and Lindsey. They didn't actually save my life, but only because I wasn't actually dying. But they couldn't have known that. Hell, I wasn't any too sure of it myself.

    1. We have a cat that adopted us about 2 1/2 years ago she's like a dog in the way she follows me around the yard, she's sweet, loving and fairly obedient in her cat way. But lord help you when she's in her crazy cat mood, lol

    2. When you maintain a conditional love with cats long enough, it does become unconditional, just like with dogs. Bonding is very important to them, and they can form deep ones.

Some cats just really love people. Some cats are more empathetic than others, but in my experience they will provide comfort if they see the need. I think unlike dogs, cats can't always tell what's going on with us as well and the same is true for the reverse.

  9. Cat's are well know soul suckers. I saw it on TV or read it on the internet so it must be true.

  10. I've known several cats that would want to sleep in bed with you if you were particuarly sad or having bad dreams.
