Funny thing, those 3 sweet birds laid 3 eggs almost without fail - I swear straight thru winter didn't molt, just kept laying.
The next summer rescued our lab/chow dog Max. I let them out o'dark thirty but forgot the pen was open. They came outta the roost and... barely got to the last one, but still too late.
My fault. I loved them damn birds. Still miss seeing them come running to me...
