Judge Won’t Delay or Move Chauvin Trial, Despite $27 Million Civil Settlement with Floyd Family

Despite a $27 million civil settlement between the city of Minneapolis and the family of George Floyd, the judge in the high-profile trial of ex-Minneapolis Police officer Derek Chauvin said that the trial will continue as scheduled. 

“Unfortunately, the pretrial publicity will continue no matter how long we continue [the trial],” Hennepin County District Judge Peter Cahill said Friday.

    They could move the trial to Mars and it wouldn't make any difference. No matter the verdict the cities will burn.

      I hate cities as much as you Chris, but there's still a whole bunch of decent Americans stuck living in that area. Including plenty of seniors trying to hold onto multigenerational homes. Like most metro areas, it expanded over the years to encompass plenty of surrounding suburbs and rural areas.

    This "trial" has nothing to do with justice or truth. It's a show trial intended to fool the feeble minded into believing that we have a functional legal system. We don't.

    And Officer Derek Chauvin is one more example of somebody believing in The System... then it back-fired on him.

    Almost as if The System is designed to not function as advertised.
