Just a tad off

  1. Reminds me of the time when my parents build their house.
The head mason, a very old man, couldn`t walk in a straight line. But let him down a few schnapps and he laid the bricks 100% accurate.

    2. Not 1989, he was dead that time.

(OK, caught in a lie. Just say it was at the beginning of the 70 and this guy was retired by then.)

  2. Yep, not very plumb. But structurally, really doesn't have a huge effect on the building. The interior wood framing is the actual building carrying load. The exterior masonry is only meant to protect the wood from the elements, as well as 'beautifying' the exterior. In this case, the beautifying part may be suspect.

  4. One of my friends' house was built by all of his buddies. One row of bricks per case of beer, or was that one case of beer per row? Forgot.

  5. That whole building is off plumb. Even the wall that the yellow bricks adjoin is tilted back, at least using the edge of the pic as a straight edge.

  7. The question now is who f'ed up, the masons or the foundation guys? You can build a perfectly plumb wall and then have the foundation settle.
