Gay Wilkinson enjoys blowing anvils more than 100 feet in the air. So much so that is a world champion at the activity. See how he does it, along with Riverfront Times writer Keegan Hamilton, in this video.
Ever heard of a 1960s USAF project codenamed 'Orion'? That was basically anvil-shooting but the 'anvil' was to be a spaceship and the charges were to be small nukes. I kid you not! The deepest secrecy concerned how small the yield of the nukes could be and using how little Plutonium.
The reporter watched too many 'Jack Ass' movies! "Hi this is Kegan Hamilton with Riverfront Times & I am here with Gay Wilkerson & we are going we are going to launch an anvil" So cool!
Does any know if there is an anvil shoot scheduled any where this summer? I'd pack up and go watch it!
ReplyDeleteCan't do that in N Korea.
ReplyDeleteOne of the best posts of all time. Too bad the video wasn't better.
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun-too bad i only have 1 anvil.
ReplyDeleteLet's get together sometime, Doug. My anvil is just sitting around doing nothing.
