I saw him twice the last time in the late 80s I think when Detroit Diesel came out. He was playing big red and they were so freakin good. A space in time hasn’t left my Bose in years.
I saw Ten Years After along with Edgar Winters and White Trash and one hit wonder Looking Glass (Brandy) on August 6, 1971 at Gaelic Park in the Bronx New York
I saw them as Ten Years Later in '78 at an outdoor venue in Saarbruken, Germany. Zappa, Baez, Genesis, Leo Kotke and a couple of other local bands filled up the bill.
I saw Ten Years After in Cocoa Beach, FL about 1986 or so.
ReplyDeleteThe band rocked that joint.

ReplyDeleteThis guy may not be Alvin Lee, but he has captured his essence....nicely done....
ReplyDeleteSaw them in 71 or 72 at Memorial Hall in Kansas City. Pretty sure that's where I lost my hearing. What? :)
ReplyDeleteBlast from the past. I haven't thought of them in years. The Anthology.

ReplyDeleteLeo, made a twelve string sound like he was backed by an orchestra. Ride My Bicycle. Incredible.
