WOO-HOO!!!

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Severe storms are expected throughout all of Middle Tennessee and Southern Kentucky Thursday. Southwestern counties are under a high risk (5/5) for severe weather. A moderate risk (4/5) is in effect for most of Middle Tennessee and a slight risk (level 3/5) for areas north and east.

The tornado risk for today is high, especially for Lawrence, Wayne, Giles, and Lincoln counties. Large tornadoes are possible. Flooding is also possible along with a high risk of damaging wind. Large hail may also occur with stronger storms.

Nothing but a little rain here so far - up at my place, anyways. According to the map at the link, we're right at the northeastern edge of the worst weather.
I had to make a store and Tractor Supply run about an hour ago and it was raining so hard in town I could hear that shit drumming on the roof while inside the stores.

Got a bit of a startle though as I was leaving Tractor Supply. I drove past the Walmart and checked the price of gas out of habit and saw that it actually went down by 9 cents since I was in town last day before yesterday, from $2.62 down to $2.53 a gallon.

  1. It may be ball numbing cold here, but it's a fairly safe bet my house is gonna be where I left it when I get home. I'll take 40 below 0, regular earthquakes and 8 months of snow to tornadoes, hail and that severe thunderstorm crapola ya'll have any day. Stay alert, hoss.

  2. You bet. If we get an alert that a tornado's on the ground, we'll go across the road and hang out in the neighbor's basement with them.

    1. We go out on the porch with a drink. Somebody's got to be responsible & observe tornadoes--damned things are destructive & can't be left unsupervised.

    1. Thanks, but according to the weather sites I keep an eye on, the storms have pretty much petered out. We're still expecting rain and wind a little later, but nothing like they were predicting earlier.

  5. Didn't you get the memo?

To offset rising gas prices, the Biden/Harris administration has issued an executve order reducing the size of a gallon to three quarts.
