Your Tuesday Morning Florida Report

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – A couple driving home from Florida flipped and wrecked their car while swerving to avoid a couch that fell off a truck. And though both escaped serious injury, there was no avoiding a $166 traffic ticket dropped off at the hospital where they were treated.

  1. Just one more example of why badgemonkeys are universally hated by everyone except other badgemonkeys.

  2. That's in Broward county, so it's no surprise. Land of the hanging Chad.

  3. I was going to comment about the ridiculousness of this entire scenario until I read DC soyboy's post apparently disparaging the EMT's that took care of him not having been tested. Think about it, He "Almost died" and he's checking inquiring whether the EMT's have been tested? Doesn't pass the smell test. I'm thinking he was a super douche at the crash scene and well, officers has the right and prerogative to issue citation so he did. That's how I see it so it may have been retaliation for inappropriate behavior or comments regarding the actual crash.

    1. Yes, I noticed the Snowflake included a 'trigger warning' with the photo of his wrecked car.
Fer cryin' out loud, who gets 'triggered' looking at a picture of an upside down car???

I also noticed he couldn't tell the difference between a state trooper and a deputy sheriff.

  4. Take it to court. If you get a good judge he'll dismiss the case.
At the very least make public the name of the prick who went out of his way, while on the payroll, to go to the hospital and deliver the citation.
Prick isn't a strong enough word for the prick.
The Florida Highway Patrol spokesman sounds like he's a real piece of work too.

  7. When I lived in Florida, I had several break-ins, my 4 wheelers stolen, attempted boat theft etc. I had cameras, provided photos and in a few cases provided names and addresses after I canvassed the hood and found the fuckers. I had another piece of land I was trying to develop for sale and the fucking vandalism was non stop. Found them too. Every fucking time I called the cops it went no where. Blew up the phones at the SA office as well. But them mutherfuckers will write you a speeding ticket and search your ride every time. This is one of the main reasons I moved because I knew I was gonna wind up shooting a thief and then it was gonna be my ass in a wringer. Fuck Florida.

  8. "A Florida Highway Patrol spokesman, Lt. Yanko Reyes, told the newspaper that while it's a tough break for the couple, troopers have discretion when issuing traffic citations."

Both Reyes and the un-named cop who wrote the ticket for improper lane usage, are clearly mentally retarded psychopaths, and crystal clear examples of the type of cops who cause people to never trust cops.
In a sane world, they would be loudly condemned by other cops for this insane use of authority.

    1. In a sane world, it wouldn't be necessary for ANYONE to have such authority.

  9. I was in a car accident 40 years ago, almost killed. My car stalled at the bottom of a hill, I was turning left on the road to head uphill. A car came over the hill and t-boned me, throwing my Ford LTD 4 door through the air like a kids toy. I broke my back, pelvis, and assorted other limb injuries, cuts, etc.
The next morning, I got a visit from 2 Michigan State Troopers, handing me a ticket for failure to yield right of way. It ended up costing me 25$, but I could hardly sign for the ticket when they brought it to me, I was in so much pain.
The guy was speeding but they didn't take it into account. Now, at age 60, my back is messed up, and I can somedays hardly get out of bed. Spending my life doing physical labor didn't help, either, but that was where the money was the best.

  10. In the article, it says "in Florida it is recommended to have at least a two-vehicle length between your vehicle and the vehicles in front of you." When you're doing 70, two car lengths isn't enough space to react to anything. That's insane!
