And the snowflakes went berserk.....

TITUSVILLE, Fla. – Flyers announcing that an assault rifle would be raffled off at a fundraiser for Astronaut High School seniors provoked worry and confusion for some parents, and glowing support for others over the weekend as news of the prize spread, News 6 partner Florida Today reported.

The ArmaLite-style assault rifle was among the items being advertised in the Project Graduation raffle. The news sparked some parents to ask how raffling a military-style firearm for a school-related function would be appropriate given deadly mass shootings that have taken place at schools over the years.

  9. 'assault rifle', 'military-style'?
Dang, sign me up! Especially if it has a 'barrel shroud' and a 'thing that goes up'.

  10. I have to ask why the school needs more money? Schools here in Texas have more money than they need. Of course they always WANT more and the tax office delivers. Texas schools pays their superintendents almost if not more than the President of the United States makes. And they keep real quiet about that. They build new schools that cost more than top secret bomb resistant CIA buildings. And then after 12 years their students cannot spell, do mathematics or speak to adults. If the K to 12 schools were a business they would have gone bankrupt 30 years ago. Parents need to start home schooling their kids.

    * this is a reference to sheila jackson and her concerns about the lesser-known cousin of the AR rifle, the equally-horrible BOX rifle.
