Elizabeth City’s mayor declared a state of emergency ahead of the release of the bodycam video

ELIZABETH CITY, N.C. (WNCN/WAVY) – The family of Andrew Brown Jr. said they still haven’t seen the bodycam video of the fatal deputy-involved shooting from last week.

Attorneys for the family said Pasquotank County Sheriff Tommy Wooten would allow them to view the video at 11:30 a.m.

At 11:30 a.m., the family said they still haven’t been given that opportunity.

Harry Daniels, an attorney for the Brown family, said county attorney Mike Cox emailed him at 10:26 a.m. saying redactions needed to be made to the video and it might not be done Monday.

Earlier Monday, Elizabeth City’s mayor declared a state of emergency ahead of the release of the bodycam video.

  4. I stayed in an RV park in Elizabeth City last summer while doing a job on the Outer Banks. Got trapped into a conversation with two black former military guys one Friday evening and came away with the knowledge that no matter what, these people intent to push this insanity to the breaking point. They somehow believe they are going to win WWZ. And white people must go. Even nice ones like myself. They did not imply this, they said it straight up. One thing I like about commies. They’re more than happy to tell you what they’re up to, if you’re smart enough to listen.

    1. A couple years back, my next door neighbor (Black) fit your description perfectly. He and his buddies moved to Africa, really. A nice black lady in the military moved in. One day she admitted the guy was crazy. They are out there.

  5. Interesting about the RV park conversations. My attitude is let'em push it to the breaking point. They are easy to identify, easy to out think, and at 13% of the population they will be steamrolled if it starts. Of course on their side we have another 15% of the population consisting of ugly white women and soy boys, but they are just cannon fodder.

  6. What's the going rate for the 'grieving' family this week? Can't let Minneapolis' lousy $27 mil hold the record for much longer. The mom in Ohio seems to be a pretty good actor-maybe she'll settle for $40 mil????

  7. What we need more of is elected officials who stand up for the majority, not skulk into a fetal position. He should warn those threatening violence and looting that he's directed the city's police officers to shoot to kill offenders.
