Punctuation. It makes all the difference. "Big asshole" vs "Big ass hole"
Or "Big-ass hole".
It very well could be Kentucky. Indeed, it could be right down the road from me. (We have some big-ass holes hereabouts. Been to Mammoth Cave lately?)
