Sure, politicians seek to undermine the Constitution, because it’s the only thing that limits or attempts to limit their power. They have always sought to undermine its authority. That’s why Chief Justice Marshall devised a role for the Supreme Court to rule on Constitutionality. Or, he was just a power-hungry megalomaniac, maybe both. By then, 1801, the politicians had already sought to worm their way around the limitations and Marshall saw in Marbury v Madison the opportunity to insert the Supreme Court as an arbiter of Constitutionality. I maintain, and always have, that Marshall lacked jurisdiction and he admitted in his memoirs that he took the case with the purpose of devising a role for the Supreme Court.
But that’s not what has led us to this place in our history. This sort of political wrangling has gone on since the beginning. The fuel to the fire is a media that willingly and enthusiastically turns a blind eye to the truth, working harder to defend liberal/communist ideals than seeking out stories of interest to the people, on behalf of the people. The only purpose of a “free press” is to criticize government, attend meetings only a few ordinary people could or would attend and inform millions about the meeting. Who needs a “free press” if it’s always going to take the side of one political party?
He is correct. Without the willing complicity of the media whores the commie left could NEVER have succeeded so completely in their infiltration and destruction of America. And in the coming war the very first casualties NEED TO BE the same complicit talking heads that lie constantly.
