Saw Molly Hatchet once. In 1975 in the Arlington section of Jacksonville at a bar called The Chatterbox. 4-piece band doing Lynyrd Skynyrd covers. One Jax band covering another.
Saw these guys several times in my yout. About 20 yrs ago I happen to stop in a bar for a quick pop on my way home when I lived in Daytona and Molly Hatchett was playing a gig there that night. They were in during the day doing a sound check playing a couple tunes, no one was there but the owner and a few other people. It was pretty cool. Of course there were only a few of the original group still in the mix but they sounded good.
Yep, I'm with Sheik. I was stationed in Jax in the late 70s early 80s. Saw them go from local club band to the big time. I actually remember that concert, one hell of a night!

ReplyDeleteThat was Danny's second stint with Molly Hatchet.
ReplyDelete"Flirtin' with Disaster" would be a good title for your GIF dumps.

ReplyDeleteI saw them in 78 in a massive outdoor concert in Nuremberg, with a dozen other bands. Probably the best concert I've ever been to.
