Nevada Assembly Passes 'Ghost Gun' Bill

A judiciary committee passed a bill prohibiting 'ghost guns,' -- preventing people from possessing, selling, purchasing or transporting firearms not imprinted with a serial number.

The bill, AB286, passed with an amendment in the Nevada Legislature on Friday afternoon.

  5. Seems like a way to get millions and millions of firearms that are out there with no serial numbers. It wasn’t made mandatory until 1967/8 that manufacturers had to do it. So all those old 22s and shotguns and off brand pistols and revolvers are now illegal?

  6. pass all the laws you want. i, or any other well informed and motivated person, can walk into any hardware store, buy the necessary parts and tools for a few dollars, and in a short time have a single shot "ghost gun" in your choice of 12 guage, 9mm/38cal, or .22 cal.
back in the day they were called "zip guns" and they cannot be eliminated.....unless you want to eliminate metal plumbing.

  7. EVERYONE in Nevada should use the serial number AB286 on all the guns they make for themselves.

  8. According to unsubstantiated rumors, 'my friend' prefers the number '8' on all the tools she/he/them/it assembles from hardware store parts or random chunks of metal.

If you happen to come across any errant tools with a serial-number '8', please contact me so I can fetch it.

  10. As others have mentioned, this (if passed into law the rest of the way) will run into problems with a century of long guns made without serial numbers.
If they want it to stand up in court, they will have to find a way to limit it to recent guns or models...
The bigger problem is the language that allows more places to ban legal carry...

  11. Clown world can dick-tate and regulate all they want. They can't enforce shit. The right to keep and bear arms and protect oneself has been in effect since man walked the earth. It is in our Constitution because the Constitution spells out what the feral are mandated BY LAW to do FOR the people, not what they are supposed to regulate that belongs rightfully to the people...
