Pro-reform gun owner says he wants to see more background checks and restrictions

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) - A pro-reform gun owner says he wants to see more background checks and restrictions.

Former Bowling Green citizen Matt Robeson says he comes from a gun-owning family and is open to Biden’s proposed reform. This could include banning assault rifles and stricter background checks.

Following the mass shootings in Boulder, Colorado, and Atlanta, Georgia, lawmakers are meeting about possible gun reform legislation.

Robeson says guns that are sold or traded privately in Kentucky don’t require background checks.

  1. If Gov't agents can have it, so can we.

  2. Didn't take him long to turn on the people who elected him did it. Gun laws are useless. There's not one gun law that has kept a gun out of the hands of a criminal. I remember when you could order just about any gun you wanted out of the Sears and Roebuck catalog and it would be delivered to your home. Times were safer then with no gun laws than they are now with all these gun laws. Criminals are going to get guns and the only thing that is going to limit the damage is a good guy with a gun.

    1. Me and my brother were ordering them out of the Herter's catalog. And we were both younger than 18, or 21. But that was the law then. And there still shootings. I can remember two. The shooter who was shooting people from the Texas Uni tower for no reason. He was caught and executed. And then there was the JFK shooting in Dallas. The CIA shooters got away clean.

And since then I would say 85% of all mass shootings were staged events by the CIA, ATF or FBI, seeing's how they are all totally anti American. Fuckin commies

    2. Note that the cities with the most restrictive gun laws (e.g. NYC and Chicago) have the highest firearms crimes. And “gun free” zones such as schools, are sitting ducks for anyone who wants to shoot them up.

Allow the general citizens to carry concealed without jumping through hoops to do so, and watch the crime rate fall.

  5. BFD. They found some dork to say what they want. They will always find some useful idiot. I could care less what he thinks or says. He does not speak for me or the millions of other gun owners.

    1. In Auschwitz, he would be referred to as a "kapo"; someone that would sell your ass down the river if it would buy him another day or even a little more food.

I'm more charitable; I refer to him and others like him as "Second Amendment Butt Monkeys" as in "I support the Second Amendment but..." You can regard anything that comes after the "but" as pure unadulterated bullshit.

  6. Funny, they don't tell us who this Matt Robeson is or why we should give a dang about his opinion. I am a current Kentucky resident and I say anyone who supports any restriction on firearms is an Anti American extremist.

    1. +1 I think we should regulate whose opinions we see on the news.
Maybe a 10 day waiting period and having a Opinion Givers Identity Card issued by the State for a fee of $100 after an 8 hour training course.

  8. Which part of 'criminals don't obey the law' does this asshole not comprehend?

The comment by Mark Robinson (a video which went viral) and which launched Robinson's political career, should be viewed regularly by every person.

    1. One should point out that Mark Robinson, and Matt Robeson(soyboy, dreck) are 2 _very_ different people, not a sloppy journalism spelling error.

"Fuck you, it's just creating a confiscation list like New Zealand"
"See? That's the attitude that should prevent you from owning guns"

This clown obviously hasn't been paying attention to what his federal government has been doing to American citizens that have done nothing wrong over the past 12 years, has he?

    2. Harvey A. Silverglate wrote a book, Three Felonies A day.
How does one know they haven't broken the law? In this day of the law so plentiful as to be onerous, it is absurd for an individual to say they have done nothing wrong.

Decades earlier, Phillip K. Howard wrote, The Death Of Common Sense.
Example after example of how the increasing amount of laws strangles persons and industry. Massive fines and sometimes jail sentences involved too.

    Keyword -- 'necessary'.
