I see houses in hot areas with dark green roofs. Or the house a dark color. I think damn they must cost a lot to cool. Also, would love to see a study on how many homes on a N slope are abandoned. My brother a pilot who also is into solar energy pointed this out to me. He said from the air if you see an old home abandoned ninety percent of the time it's on a N slope.
And that is exactly why I painted the roof on the front part of my house white, to reflect the heat in the summer. Doesn't matter in the winter because it stays covered with 2+ feet of snow. I painted it for the summer.
the solution to global warming. Cover the atmosphere with bodies of snowflakes
ReplyDeleteEven the sun doesn’t like black things

ReplyDeleteMy brother and I resorted to using a magnifying glass to light firecrackers when the folks took away our matches and lighters.
ReplyDeleteThat's why paint on white cars lasts longer than dark colors.
ReplyDeleteP.S.I hate clear coat.
You're all so silly...as a former printer, white reflects light, while dark absorbs it...but I still like the comments!
