Texas Passes Bill to Remove NFA Suppressor Requirements for ‘Made in Texas’ Cans

A bill passed by the Texas state legislature this weekend could remove federal licensing requirements for suppressors manufactured, purchased, and possessed within state borders, and provide a blueprint for other states to circumvent National Firearm Act restrictions.

    1. It and the rest of the bullshit will follow the USG down the drain in due time.

  2. Federal courts have bent over backward and tied themselves in knots justifying federal reach under 'Interstate Commerce'. I've read decisions where there wasn't even a whiff of logic or plain sense involved. And every time that's happened, it generates "precedence", that seems to be more important than laws or statutes that should govern the conduct of the courts.

This will be interesting to follow.

    1. Agreed. It’s not just the feds though, state courts uphold precedent, especially the state supreme courts, even if the lower court ruling blatantly violates the state bill of rights or the black letter of the law being ruled on. Ask me how I know.

  3. My opinion is worth what you paid for it, but this is just virtue signaling. The feds will still put you under the jail when they want to. You will likely find local law will enforce the federal law if it suits them. I hope, after what we've seen this last year, nobody believes the police will do anything besides obey the folks that sign their paychecks.

The Texas law has a provision for pretesting in the courts, so we'll have to hold our horses for a few years to see if they can sort that out. I hope I'm still young enough to enjoy it if it ever actually happens.

  6. Gonna watch this from the sidelines for a while. I may not have much time left but I don't want to spend it in Club Fed.

  7. Have my eyes deceived me? Is the only country that matters giving a big fuck you to the feds? Sure appears so. Each state should lay claim to their right to govern themselves without .gov trying to justify their paychecks. Fuck em and fire up the lathes boys.
