#7 if they had been Day-light donuts that would be worthy of great wailing and gnashing of teeth. But krispykreams? You were saved from your foolishness.
I fear I must disagree. I see the Krispy Kreme doughnut, hot and fresh off the cooker, as a true sign that we have a loving God. That and the fact that we don't remember toilet training.
#2 - It looks like she was using one of those metal straws (to save the planet) to drink her wine and she let it drop into an improperly tempered glass.
At the risk of losing my man card, I never liked donuts that much. And the kind of bacon that you can buy in stores today makes me hate bacon now. Unless I buy bacon from an actual butcher shop, where they make their own bacon, cutting it from the pig, and brining it and smoking it with real wood, there is no point in even bothering. When my mom was in her last days with lung cancer, she couldn't taste very well. She really wanted foods from her younger days, and things like liverwurst from a real butcher shop, etc. I went to a shop, but the guy said that they only made it in the fall. I told him my tale of woe, and he did a special run, just for my mom. That is why I love small businesses, and try to frequent them, giving them my business. And I know that it is not the norm, but I gave the guy a tip, to take his family out to dinner, on me, in gratitude for his kindness.
Outstanding post! It's not just the bacon and liverwurst, either. I've got a local butcher where the meats are all natural, no hormones, no antibiotics, and the beef is grass fed. The chickens are from the Amish. Anything from the grocer tastes like dog shit, laced with chemicals. Glad you were able to get yer mom some of the good stuff!
2. What are you? Five years old and have to drink your wine with a straw? 7. Everyone on here has a local bakery that puts Krispy Kreme to shame. Daryl
When I was in my teens, 50+ yrs ago, I used to go sit at the counter at our local Krispy Kreme and order the donuts still hot out of the fryer. Like eating sweet air. Yell! I probably haven't eaten a donut in probably 25 years. Too many better things to eat.

DeleteI nominate all 10 as memes that depict the state America is in currently.
ReplyDelete#7 Only thing worse would be 'Hot Now'.
ReplyDeleteThey were only krispy kremes, it's not like they were good donuts. Now a spilled box of Lamars or Shipleys would have been something to cry about.

Best bacon you’ll ever eat. I always buy 3 or 4 pounds when I go home to East Tennessee and hoard it for special occasions.

Actually, not really local. I've gotta drive an hour and a half (each way!) to get a decent apple fritter.
