Louisiana Governor Vetoes Gun Law, Retains Concealed Carry Permit Requirement

Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards vetoed a bill passed by the bipartisan state lawmakers that would have nixed the permit requirement for carrying a concealed handgun.

The governor, a Democrat, said he’s a strong supporter of the Second Amendment and an “enthusiastic outdoorsman and hunter,” but he can’t support permitless concealed carry.

    1. Well the hard part is to find republicans with backbone, we have a very large republican majority in our legislator but they are all chickenshit. They have done nothing to override the governor, they can override him on everything but no... scared to do their damn jobs.
It's not just the carry bill but also a bill keeping boys pretending to be girls from competing against girls in the female leagues he vetoed and a bill to keep donations for campaigns honest,, It's going to be interesting come campaign and election time if they don't go back into session to fix this bullshit

    2. Those types of republicans are worried about public opinion instead of standing up to the ignorant bigots and in trying to keep them appeased, they end up pissing off the actual republicans or conservative.

It seems to me the vast majority of the republican party are frauds, chickenshits and democrats in disguise, hence too scared to do their damn jobs which is what they ran and we elected them on.
We've worked on getting a good clean bill through for the last 6 sessions..and to counter us what they did was to always add trash attachments to our bills knowing we would no longer support it.. The republicans skated by with the excuse " we tried " and walked away for a long, long time....
I get a lot of "yall elected a democrat what did you expect", without knowing the piece of shit republican candidate, diaper boy Vitter, LaGOP shoved on us thinking we would hold our nose and vote their boy in. We didn't and we won't period. Go fuck yourself LaGOP...
It's been a long fight to get here, the State Police, the local cops and the ccw instructors have been making lots of coin off the permits and don't want to let it go away so they are fighting us and the State Police have the governor's ear, more crooked bastards...
Open carry is legal here and basically all this law would do is make it legal to drop your shirt over the butt of your handgun, which is all that has to be exposed here...
Politicians and lawyers 2 things that should never been allowed to exist in this country cause all they've done is bring it down.

  6. Constitutional Carry goes into effect in Texas on 1 September. I'll continue to renew my Concealed Carry Permit to allow carry across state borders and to bypass NIC check.
