Mark and Patricia McCloskey both pleaded guilty to misdemeanors

ST. LOUIS (KTVI) — Mark and Patricia McCloskey both pleaded guilty Thursday to misdemeanor charges related to an incident in which they waved guns at protesters outside their Missouri home last year.

Mark McCloskey pleaded guilty to misdemeanor fourth-degree assault. He faces a $750 fine but no jail time. Patricia McCloskey pleaded guilty to misdemeanor harassment. She was fined $2,000 and will not face jail time.

They both agreed to forfeit their guns, which will be destroyed.

  1. Mqn, fuck THAT!
I get plea bargaining.... the fines paid were less than what the court costs would be to go to trial. But you're letting the state get off the hook. By pleading guilty vs. proving your innocence. Now the state gets to say they win, and you'admitted guilt when you've done nothing wrong (all in the name of filthy lucre....)

  2. Mark's a lawyer, I gotta assume they made the best call for their situation. But agree with above - wish they would have fought it.
I do wonder in they took the deal to 'clear the decks' for Mark's Senate run - cold revenge could still be on the menu.

  4. What were any of the BLM 'protestors' fined?

  5. The state gets to destroy the guns. That's what the fascists really want.

  8. I had a feeling that a couple of lawyers would take the easy way out, and I was right.

There is more to life than it's mere continuance. Right is right, no matter what it costs you.

Always easy to say when it not your life on the line.

    2. Easy to say when it is not your ass facing jail time. They can always buy another gun, but they cannot replace the year spent in jail. Plus the probable felony that the prosecution would go for, if it went to trial. Not sure, but it might affect the guys legal membership in the bar, plus the ability to own a firearm, etc.

  9. The McCloskeys knew this would never end. The progressive anti-gun folks have Soros the SPLC and Liberal Saint Louis prosecuters with endless funds to keep the bullshit going for decades. I guess they figured this wasn't the hill to die of old age on.

  10. It is a spineless move by someone that is running for US Senate. I will not be voting for someone that can't stand up for their own rights. How could I ever trust that they would stand up for my rights.

    1. I think you're right. People don't respect quitters, but otherwise it's the couple's biz and no one else's.

  13. I'm not in their shoes (thank God) so I'm not going to criticize them.

Besides, after watching the travesty of a trial the officer Chauvin got who would trust in the legal system if it's under the control of the Democrats. Don't pick a fight in another persons arena.

  14. Filthy lucre is what we use to buy toilet paper and wipe our ass . Not to mention purchase our Big Macs . He got the charges reduced to a minimum and knew that was all he could get up there in the northern part of Venezuela . Smart move . I've done the same . Juries are notoriously filled with sub-human bottom feeding types you may have noticed .

  16. The real irony here is that NONE, NOT ONE of the people that caused the McClosky's to have to defend property and life were arrested, never mind charged with any crime.

  17. Not sure if y'all remember but when this whole story first came out it was mentioned the McCloskeys are liberals, even donated to BLM. Why, then, would anyone assume they would act otherwise? One might hope this incident would remove the scales from their eyes, however fighting this would mean jeopardizing their very comfortable lifestyle. They say there is nothing more dangerous than someone with nothing to lose. The flip side suggests there is nothing more docile than someone with everything to lose.
