  3. I will definitely give this a try. My shooting has definitely gone down hill over the last few years since I've gotten into my mid sixties. Maybe it will help to steady my hands a bit......

  4. I learned the finger forward technique many moons ago and it works well for me with the Glock I carry, when ammo returns to a somewhat normal situation I'll give the wedge a try.

  5. Dudes still shooting weaver. Which is fine, unless you have a threat to your right side. I consider myself pretty damn good with a pistol. I've done the time. I'm sure other here feel the same. So here's what I've discovered. Literally every on line video or defensive pistol course available focuses on the back of the gun for controlling recoil. Gotta meet the heals of your palms meet. There can't be any gap between them. Bull Shit. When you think about it, it doesn't even make sense. Recoil mitigation occurs in the front of the grip. Geometrically logical. Ayoobs weak hand fingers should resting in his strong hands knuckles. Unless he has tiny hands. Anyway, works for me and I welcome other opinions.

    2. Blah, blah, blah.
It's a safe bet that Ayoob has fired thousands more rounds than you and he isn't telling you to change, what he's doing is giving options.
I shoot mostly finger forward, have for well over 3 decades, and oh my I generally use the Weaver stance to, yeah I know I'm a dinosaur. Thing is last CCW class I took at 59 years old and constantly being told that's not how we do it now I constantly outshot 95% of my class of primarily 30 to 40 year olds.
Hmm just maybe he's forgotten more than you know........

  6. I used to read his blog regularly. Back in 2013 there was an incident in New Mexico where a guy was stopped and eventually forced to undergo a colonoscopy looking for drugs. I and several others asked Ayoob his opinion and he turned into a cheerleader even after the city settled paying $1.6 million. Since then I have had no use for the mashole.

  8. For a solid foundation, face the target squarely with feet together and knees locked.
Now, grasp the gun lightly with one hand, and support the gun in the cupped palm of the other hand. (Especially important when shooting a large caliber gun to allow it to shift during recoil.)
Bend your elbows and move the gun close to your eye for better view of the sights.
For best accuracy, pull the trigger quickly as soon as sights are aligned,
