Florida man 1st to face sentencing for felony in riot at US Capitol

A Florida man who breached the U.S. Senate chamber carrying a Trump campaign flag is scheduled to become the first Jan. 6 rioter sentenced for a felony, in a hearing that will help set a benchmark for punishment in similar cases.

Prosecutors want Paul Allard Hodgkins to serve 18 months behind bars, saying in a recent filing that he, “like each rioter, contributed to the collective threat to democracy” by forcing lawmakers to temporarily abandon their certification of Joe Biden’s election victory and to scramble for shelter from incoming mobs.

  1. While I believe the democrat controlled gvnt will seek the harshest sentences possible, I also believe the data coming from the 2020 election audits in Az and more states SHOULD make the cases moot ...............
I hope to see a class action by the STILL INCARCERATED 6/1 arrestees

  5. Between this boolsheet and the .gov instructing social media to censor in formation it doesn't like, the country's got one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.

Our only hope is that the Maricopa audit overturns the election. Otherwise we're toast.

  6. Hoping for a nul pros , or at least an acquittal. Maybe the jury has the guts for nullification. But given the corruption of the justice system, I'm not holding my breath. In which case, martyr will do.

  7. Well, since we live in a republic, not a democracy, I suppose he's acquitted, right?

  8. Are these jury trials? Guess it doesn't matter. The DC area and judges are rabid democrats. They believe the American Flag is racist.
