A 35-year-old man is accused of opening fire on an ambulance crew around 3:45 p.m. Sunday, Tucson police Chief Chris Magnus told news outlets. The driver of the ambulance, a 20-year-old man, was shot in the head, and a paramedic in the passengers seat, a 21-year-old woman, was shot in the chest and arm. The man was in critical condition and the woman was stable.
No name or physical description of the assailant. How strange. I wonder if the reporter writing this piece is trying to conceal some relevant information of some kind.
ReplyDeleteOne does wonder...
DeleteIt seems to be happening more frequently these days. As a Firefighter, I pay attention to these reports, but we still show up to every call for help and do our jobs. I'm fortunate to live in an area where this kind of thing is largely unheard of, but still worry about the prevalence of this kind of behavior - people NEED to know that they can count on us to show up when they're having one of the worst days of their lives - but shooting at us will eventually slow down our responses...
ReplyDeleteDon't believe any police or news statement for the first 24 hours, especially don't believe news statements.
ReplyDeleteI prefer 48.
DeleteSomeone who doesn't want you to put out the fire.
ReplyDeleteMS-13 or cartel action?
ReplyDeleteDomestic gone really really wrong?
Fucking dummies..
It was common in the 1970's South Bronx. Set a fire, then assault the police and firefighters from the roofs with bricks and .22's.
ReplyDeleteSounds like the 80s in N'awlins....or Houston

ReplyDeleteI had a good friend who was an EMT in Chicago in the 90's. He got shot at from time to time there. He also told me to never be on the street in Chicago any time after 6pm. I would never go there for any reason today.
ReplyDeleteMy son and his family did four days there last week, doing the "food, bike tour, museum things".
DeleteKids have no concept of the amount of Preparation H is sold because of them.
Who shoots at firefighters and EMT's? I'll give you a hint, it starts with n.
ReplyDeleteIt is, or was, a thing in the UK. Mostly soccer hooligan types, to the point there were PSA posters over urinals in the pubs. "Please don't beat up the ambulance crews".
ReplyDeleteNot long before I quit the Paramedics, I was working on a patient when some random asshole stabbed me in the back of my arm with a broken bottle.
ReplyDeleteThat was back in the day before even the cops wore vests.
Anyway, when the cops were done with him, we called a second Ambulance.
Good times then.
The accused -- leslie stephen scarlett.
ReplyDelete'...just out of the joint for armed robbery, hx of mental issues...'... therefore a prohibited person, apparently.
.
No mention of hx of frustration with firefighters or ambulance crews.
'Critical condition' in hospital after shooting at a LawEnforcementOfficial with a better concept of 'quality range-time'.
"Who in the hell shoots at firefighters and EMTs?"
ReplyDeleteAre we playing guess the race again?

Not surprised of the shooter's appearance. Hmmmm. Yet another fine, upstanding citizen finally pushed to the brink by the constant harassment that occurs due to the evils of systemic racism. Okay, that last bit was a bit sarcastic. But, I just cannot help myself sometimes.
