Forrest bust on display at Tennessee State Museum

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The bust of Ku Klux Klan leader and Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest and two others were installed at the Tennessee State Museum Tuesday after they were removed from the Capitol last week.

Kinda funny how quick they are to say that he was a Klan leader but they conveniently forget to mention that he later disavowed the organization because he didn't like what it turned into.

Doesn't matter if he disavowed what the Klan later became, he was a leader of White Southern resistance against reconstruction, so he has to be erased.

  4. They also don't talk about the huge number of black folks who attended his funeral, because they knew he helped their community. Once they were free, he wanted to help them be good citizens, and they loved him for it.

  5. Undisputed, greatest Cavalry Officer.
His war exploits were epic to say the least. Throughout the conflict, Forrest was wounded on at least 35 times while having his horse shot out from under him on 8 separate occasions.
Forrest was both hated and feared by the Yankee invader, and he used this to his advantage. He made it known that this 12-star battle flag was his flag. This had somewhat of a psychological effect on the enemy who knew they weren’t just fighting a regular Confederate force, they were fighting Nathan Bedford Forrest.

  7. Hmmm...Forrest Gump was named after him. Will that movie be cancelled anytime soon? How would this affect suspected pedophile Tom Hanks, who recently recanted his US citizenship and relocated to Greece? Inquiring minds need to know.

  8. How long before The Usual Suspects demand the bust be removed from the museum?

  9. Today's "No shit?" statement: "His involvement with the Klan came after the war."

  10. This notion that you have to be perfect to be great is fucked up. Forrest was a great man.

    1. There's not a man in this world that hasn't done something he regretted later on down the line.
